Create a Team

Teams help you keep everything organized by categorizing multiple spaces under a common theme. Teams are great for a consistent group of people who are going to be working on something for a long time. That something might be complicated and involve a lot of activities or subprojects happening at the same time. For example, you may have a team for a large project that includes cross-department team members all working together on specific pieces of the project.

Every team includes at least one team space, General, which has unique characteristics. When a moderator adds you to a team, you're automatically added to the General space. As a team member, you can view and join all spaces within the team, and you can also create additional team spaces for others to join.

Only moderators can add people to a team. People not already signed up for Spark will automatically receive an invite to join when you invite them to a team.


 

Windows

  1. Select Teams
  2. Click New Team, enter a team name and description for the team, and then click Create.
  3. To add people to your team, select the Team Members tab, click Add Team Member, and then enter their full name or email address.
  4. To create more spaces, select New Space, and then enter a name for your space.


 

Mac

  1. Select Teams
  2. Click Create Team, enter a team name and description for the team, and then click Create.
  3. To add people to your team, select the Members tab, click add team member, and then enter their full name or email address, and then tap Done.
  4. To create more spaces, select New Space, and then enter a name for your space.


 

iPhone and iPad

  1. Tap Teams
  2. Tap Create, enter a team name and an optional description of the team, and then tap Create Team.
  3. To add people to your team, tap the Team Members tab, tap Add Team Member, enter their full name or email address, and then tap the check mark.
  4. To create more team spaces, on the Spaces tab, tap Create Space, enter a name for the space and then tap Create Space.


 

Android

  1. Tap the navigation drawer, select Teams, enter a team name and an optional description for the team, and then tap Create Team.
  2. To add people to your team, tap Team Members > Add Team Members, enter their full name or email address, select the person from the results, and then tap OK. The people you selected are added to the team and to the default (General) space. If someone you added does not already have a Cisco Spark account, an email invite is sent to them.
  3. To create more spaces, tapSpaces > Create Space, enter a name for your space, and then tap Create. The space is created. You can then add people to the space or team members can join the space on their own.


 

Web

  1. Select Teams
  2. Click Create Team, enter a team name and optional description for the team, and then click Create.
  3. To add people to your team, select the Members Tab, select Add Team Member, and then complete the following:
    • To add someone from your organization, enter the name of the person you want to add and then select them from the list.
    • To add someone outside of your organization, enter their email address and then click Add Team Member.
  4. To create more spaces, select New Space, and then enter a name for your space.
